Mimic octopus

Dear children,

Today's assembly talk was indeed interesting! I noticed that quite a number of you seemed quite fascinated by the starting video. So in case you did not catch it, the animal is called a "mimic octopus".

Really amazing isn't it?

End of Term 2

Dear all,

My apologies for the lack of updates recently.

We have come to the end of the Term. Here are some reminders for tomorrow:

Report Books
Please sign and return the report books. Do rearrange the slips inside your report book to make space for your mid-year result slips. As I've spoken to you all today, please reflect on how you can improve further for the next 2 terms.

Use your hands campaign
Remember to bring a rag and pails (for the 9 pupils) for the use-your-hands campaign. Be aware of your safety and reflect on the rationale behind this whole-school activity.

Maths Files
Please ensure that all of you have submitted your Math files. If not, you must bring it tomorrow to do filing of your SA1 papers.

Yours Sincerely,
Miss Chan

Parent Teacher Meeting

Dear parents,

I am very heartened by the overwhelming response to meet up during the PTM on 31st May. As I am teaching 3 different classes due to subject specialization, I am truly constrained by the amount of time available. As such, some of you may find it difficult to book a slot with me as they are already mostly occupied.

For parents who are not able to book a slot, I will try my best to give you a call over the June Holidays to discuss your child's progress over Semester 1. You may also e-mail me with your concerns and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Should you choose to wait for me on 31st May without an appointment, I will try my best to see you if I have pockets of time available in between. However I strongly discourage that as you may find yourself waiting for a long time since priority will be given to parents who have booked a slot.

Parents who managed to book a time slot, please try to adhere to the timing as I am fully booked on that day and there may be a problem attending to you if you miss the timing given to you.

Thank you all for your kind understanding.

Yours truly,
Miss Chan

All the best!

Dear children,

Now that your SA1 Examinations have started, do take care of yourself and do your best to prepare for them.

Please remember to bring your calculator and Mathematical set (Set-squares, protractor, ruler) for your Mathematics paper. Pace yourself well especially during Paper 1 (50 minutes).

Use this weekend wisely to revise. Your files have been returned to you quite a while ago, do practise what I've mentioned in class. Cover your solutions for questions you've got wrong, and attempt it again. Check to see if you have grasped the concept. If not, read through the corrections solution to see where you have gone wrong.

You can still see me on Monday to clear any doubts you may have for your work.

All the best and good luck~

Yours truly,
Miss Chan

Term 2 Recycling Competition P5 Champion

Dear all,

Congratulations on winning the Interclass News Paper Collection Competition in Term 2 within the P5 level! I am very proud of you. Our class has collected 220 kg of newspapers and 4 kg of can tabs!

You have all done well by contributing the newspapers and can tabs in Term 1 and 2. We also have to thank our science monitors Rui Min and Nicholas, who diligently tied up all the newspapers during their breaks and stacking it neatly at the back of the classroom.

Let us all continue to work towards doing our part for the environment!

Regards,
Miss Chan

Some gentle reminders

Dear children,

Process Thinking Skills
Please use this weekend to revise the Term 2 PTS concepts using the Math file that I have returned to you. I will be conducting the Mastery Test on Monday during lesson time. It is important to master these concepts as they will be tested in SA1.

Mini Walkathon Cards
I will be collecting back the walkathon cards during the Mastery test, so please remember to bring the card and the money on Monday. Do not seal the envelope if you are putting them into one.

SA1 Oral Examinations
Next Tuesday and Wednesday will be your Oral examinations. Please remember to check which group you belong to and make necessary transport arrangements after school. You must be present for for the Oral Exam unless you have a valid MC.

Classroom Cleanliness
The cleanliness of the classroom on Friday after school was so much better. I hope you can maintain and keep up with such responsibility towards your own learning environment without me having to constantly remind you.

Reflect and Learn
I may have been rather harsh with the class lately but it was necessary for all of you to improve and reflect on what you did not do so well. I hope you will really think about what I have mentioned about learning attitude and also your behaviour.

Have a good weekend and work hard! Drink lots of water and take care not to fall ill at such a critical time with your examinations around the corner.

Regards,
Miss Chan
